Tingalpa State School delivers quality teaching and learning to ensure our students become successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. To achieve this, our students develop the following skills:

Our curriculum documents are based on the Australian Curriculum. We also use the Department of Education’s P-12 Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Framework to inform our practice and decision making.
The eight subjects taught and assessed at Tingalpa State School are:

In each of the eight learning areas of the Australian Curriculum, there are three cross-curriculum priorities embedded. These are:

Assessment and Reporting
A variety of assessment tools are used to gather information about each student’s individual learning needs. Differentiation is a key teaching practice in every classroom to ensure every student is engaged in the curriculum, and excels in their learning.
At Tingalpa State School, year level teaching teams work collaboratively to create quality assessment for all students. Teachers participate in moderation sessions to ensure the standard of student learning is consistent across the year level.
Students are assessed throughout the learning, and at the end of the learning. This informs the teacher’s knowledge of the students’ current learning needs and allows the students to be given feedback about their learning.
Parents and carers are informed of their child’s social progress and academic results through:
• Two academic report cards per year
• Two parent-teacher interviews per year.
