Curriculum

Tingalpa State School delivers quality programs centred around Literacy and Numeracy. The Australian Curriculum informs how we teach English, Maths, Science, Geography and History. Other key learning areas including Technology, Language Other Than English (LOTE-Japanese in years 4,5 & 6), Health and Physical Education and the Arts are informed by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Framework. The Prep classes implement the Australian Curriculum and the Early Years Curriculum guidelines and this is continued across the early phase of learning.

Teachers plan teaching and learning activities for the children from the Australian Curriculum that challenge and extend their understanding in all of the key learning areas. At Tingalpa SS, teachers work closely together to assess student work and ensure that the standard is consistent across each year level as well as building on the skills from one year level to the next.
