Prep at Tingalpa State School is a year filled with fun, learning, making new friends, discovering talents and finding out about how school works.
Prep is available to all children who are turning 5 by the 30 June in the year they enrol in prep. Prep is full-time and class sizes are up to 25 students with a teacher and a teacher aide. In prep, students learn through play, investigations, real life situations.
Prep is play-based and child-centred. It clearly identifies enquiry-based learning and investigations as key elements. Teachers plan learning experiences based on the five learning areas, social and personal learning, health and physical learning, language learning and communication, early mathematical understandings and active learning processes.
These five areas are linked to the Australian Curriculum. Students participate in carefully organised and engaging units of work in English, Mathematics, Science and HASS.
We are continually amazed at the potential of our prep students and design programs to assist them to reach their full learning potential while creating responsible and independent thinkers.

At Tingalpa State School our priority is on student learning, for this reason we don't offer school tours as it would interrupt the learning of our students. Please take the time to look through our website as it is full of information about the school.
