Prep at Tingalpa State School is a year filled with fun, learning, making new friends, discovering talents and finding out about how school works.

Prep is available to all children who are turning 5 by the 30 June in the year they enrol in prep. Prep is full-time and class sizes are up to 25 students with a teacher and a teacher aide. In prep, students learn through play, investigations and real life situations.

Prep is play-based and child-centred. It clearly identifies enquiry-based learning and investigations as key elements. Teachers plan learning experiences based on the Australian Curriculum. Students participate in carefully organised and engaging units of work in English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, Technologies, The Arts, Health and Physical Education and Languages.

We are continually amazed at the potential of our prep students and design programs to assist them to realise their full learning potential while creating responsible and independent thinkers.

View the Department's online calculator to determine when your child can commence their preparatory year.

School Tours

At Tingalpa State School our priority is on student learning, for this reason we don't offer school tours so student learning is not interrupted. Please take the time to look through our website as it is full of information about the school.
